I propose elements of solutions to address some of the concerns here including:
- Introduction of a grace period during which the LAND is made available for community use
- Use of an oracle to detect offchain activity such as signing into Decentraland, or being active on Ethereum or other chains
- Use of novel notification mechanisms such as chat.blockscan.com, EPNS & lens protocol
- Introduction of a simple ping() method to reset the timer without having to transfer LAND
