Budget Breakdown - https://bit.ly/mtpresent

One way to ensure the progressive success of Decentraland is by developing multi-disciplinary, cross-world projects like the MetaTrekkers entertainment platform for art and artists alike. From the beginning, MetaTrekkers’ mission has been to become an immersive platform that allows artists to tap into the endless opportunities brought by the metaverse. MetaTrekkers has been developing weekly events like festivals and special concerts headlined by important names in both the metaverse and the real-world entertainment scene. Through Decentraland DAO’s support, MetatTrekkers aims to become an artist-supporting and arts-expression platform, ensuring a steady flow of new users for the environment.

Description

Since there are character limitations in the grant request form, you can read the full description and details of the proposal here: MetaTrekkers Porposal - Full Copy - Google Drive

MetaTrekkers has been developing, organizing and hosting innovative events in Decentraland for over a year and, whether it’s concerts or art shows, we have learned that the foundation for a thriving environment is a tight-knit community with access to a range of features that allow it to benefit from the interaction and engagement inside the metaverse. Knowing this, MetaTrekkers wants to become the platform that brings the artist and metaverse-user communities together and rewards them for their participation in various series of entertainment events, sessions and talks.
The grant would cover the development, marketing and advertising of the events and innovative features aimed at improving the Decentraland user experience.
By expanding the brand awareness of Decentraland as a user engagement-focused metaverse, we are reaching out to new users interested in onboarding and attracting a new, important target – brands looking to adopt new “customer journey” technologies and solutions.
Turning art and entertainment series like the MetaTrekkers x Venice Music Concerts or the BeatTrekkers DJ Battles into Decentraland resident events, we are ensuring a constant flow of metaverse newcomers originating from the artists’ fanbase. As a fresh experience for a new user, we want to offer a full range of engaging performances and means for them to showcase their art, all while being rewarded for their activity with metaverse-specific benefits provided by a large network of partner locations and projects spread all over Decentraland.
Establishing MetaTrekkers as an artist and entertainment platform, which constantly develops new concepts based on community involvement, will provide a ramp for Decentraland to multiply its reach and an incentive for artists and fans alike to discover the endless possibilities featured in a socially active, virtual environment. The possibility for the Decentraland DAO and the platform to become a hub for visionary artists who want to explore the virtual environment and experiment together with their following, relies on investing in the proper partnership and communication opportunities, like the MetaTrekkers x Venice Music collaboration and the development of a Decentraland onboarding standard, which will be made available to all Decentraland venues through an open-source kit.
The funds from the DAO grant will serve to build the platform as a self-sustainable project that represents a portal for artists and fans across the planet, and from other metaverses, to access Decentraland and make it the go-to virtual world for entertainment and arts.

Specification

To paint a clear picture of the importance held by the MetaTrekkers events regarding onboarding new users into Decentraland and building an organic community, we must start from the beginning of our metaverse entertainment journey.

Dubfest
Our first step into the (big) live events territory was when the MetaTrekkers Clubhouse hosted the 24 hour / 24 artists Dub Fest, the first event of its kind in the metaverse, which brought over 300 visitors to the Decentraland location, out of which we succeeded to convert into Decentraland regular users around 80%.

Venice Music
The MetaTrekkers entertainment journey continued with a partnership that emphasizes the overall importance our initiative holds in regard to making the Decentraland metaverse known and accessible to new target audiences. We are talking about the MetaTrekkers x Venice Music series of concerts. It is worth mentioning that this music label was founded by Troy Carter, former manager for artists like Eve, John Legend and Lady Gaga, and one of the biggest names in the entertainment industry to direct their business towards web3, through an NFT-gated, professional collective.

The first concert of the series also brought a strategic collaboration for MetaTrekkers – teaming up with Decentral Games in order to offer the best onboarding experience for all the fans who wanted to attend their favorite artist’s concert but were new to the metaverse. To put it into numbers, the first MetaTrekkers x Venice Music concert has given us the opportunity to reach a new audience of 2.5 million social media accounts (all four artists’ following combined).

Yossy Concert
The next milestone of our Decentraland entertainment adventure was an important event for the Latinx NFT music scene, and it was marked by a special concert featuring Yossy, a Latinx musician and first-time metaverse performer. This event has allowed us to reach a new, niche audience of over 12k followers, of which some became Decentraland users after receiving their metaverse onboarding.

BeatTrekkers
Currently the biggest DJ battle series of events in the metaverse, BeatTrekkers is MetaTrekkers’ biggest initiative to date as it engages twelve competing artists, guest artists, the Decentraland and MetaTrekkers community, plus new audiences – the participating artists’ metaverse-newbie fans and general public interested in the benefits associated with NFT music and being part of a developing metaverse community.

Since our aim is to give back to the community as much we can, one of the main rewarding ideas within BeatTrekkers is to give fans and supporters access to the artists’ work, well beyond the live performances, in the form of wearables, NFTs and private lessons led by the artists themselves. The BeatTrekkers series has the potential to become a platform for Decentraland to onboard big names in the music industry.

In order to make this happen, we are requesting a grant of $120,000 USD. This funding will be used to cover the costs of marketing, event production and artist fees. We believe that this grant will pay off in the form of increased awareness and adoption of Decentraland, as well as providing a fun and immersive experience for art and music fans. The users already onboarded through our program have bought Decentraland parcels, created and submitted wearable designs, also play an active role on the wearable purchase and minting market.

MetaTrekkers have been pushing boundaries in Decentraland. Between amazing events with the community to showcase wearables, NFT art, and onboarding, it’s an easy yes from me. Also, the BeatTrekkers competition has been absolutely extraordinary! it’s incredible to see all the great DJ’s in this space, competition against each other with nothing but just great vibes and energy, job well done guys!

Very professional and well mapped out proposal, I vote yes! Chris does great things and is an innovative leader in the community. Looking forward to seeing what he and his team can do with some extra support!

Hello, could you give some details as to what “36 Venue Partner Support” means in the budget breakdown?

Other than that I would vote yes. Keep up the good work!

Hi Crypt Sannin, Sure no problem. In the proposal it states that we are working with 36 venues in DCL. Pre Event, Main Event and Post Event. We are doing this for a total of 12 weeks.12 *3=36 For the most part its a different Venue each time. Venue compensation will serve as a token of appreciation to the partner venues. It will compensate the venues’ efforts during the event including manpower, setup preparations, and promotions. (No venue partner has asked for this, but we feel an obligation to let them know we are thankful for their support) We are trying to make a win-win situation for everyone, the community has to win in order for DCL to win! I hope I answered your questions and thank you for your kind remarks.

I think this idea is great, in order to have a larger community we need people to have fun while enjoying different experiences inside the metaverse. If they come in and there is nothing to do, then why would they stay?
With this idea that content will be there and the artists performing inside the metaverse will bring their communities too!
MetaTrekkers have already proben they can pull this off

METATREKKERS has been one of the most highly anticipated venue in the space with the beatrekkers event shaking up the block chain week after week. Def a yes from me and no questions love all the community functions support and educational sessions such as the tours and much more. Many thanks to them for providing such quality in the space.

No question here! Solid yes. Has the connections to make this happen and has shown what they can do all ready.

It’s an Easy YES for us. Since the beginning metatrekkers understands and does it so well to bring the community and creators together through their weekly events, where people can learn about these creators in a new level. And through out the time, you could see the significant increase of people interested in their events and it’s growing so fast, like DJ battle, they are working with all other venues in DCL, just trying their best to support everyone! Apart from supporting creators through their events, the team members are the nicest people We know, they keep showing support to whatever you are struggling with! So I have no doubt with the success they are ought to bring! They will do amazing work for DCL!

YES. I think this is an excellent proposal.

The team supporting this project is first class. The amount requested is not only reasonable but realistic.

Metatrekkers has contributed to Decentraland in various ways. It will be so beneficial to community. I’ve been there since day 1 and they have already proved they are capable of delivering a high quality activities in DCL.

Yes, very professional proposal with solid community was built up for months. Very cool ideas like DJ battles, smart and effective. I think they can do more fantastic events and bring more people into DCL in the future.

This team is on fire right now, really looking forward to see what they produce with this round of funding.

Looks great, and a solid team behind the project. Look forward to seeing what else the MetaTrekkers bring to Decentraland!

I love this community and the events are well organized and fun. I appreciate the detail you put into your proposal, and I look forward to the next steps. An easy yes for me!

Chris Metatrekkers hosts the Beattrekkers event and uses other people’s venues, doesn’t pay DJs, but expects outrageous payments for 3 ten second announcements for a fellow community organization thats been here longer than them. GTFOH with great community member BS. He is only about the money and clearly is not about building a community. He is using his Metatrekkers to leach onto others projects. Stop letting him use your name for this because you will sink with his ship. Not Holy

@janice1111 @Vaporizador @friskybumblebee Please check out my post above.

Chris @MetaTrekkers why did you delete your statements?

  1. First of all, you will NOT answer this hypothetical question because otherwise I will reveal what you just told me.

  2. You’re game is clear to me now and you will not have my side. You clearly want money and power. You can take your Harvard Degree and your previous Nigerian Prince Life of Musk NFT scam out of DCL

We are a strong community and I am not going to allow a crooked person to take the DAO’s funds. Step down Chris. You are ousted. Like I said. Do Not Reply because I will reveal more of your crooked ways.

@Tudamoon Hey Tudamoon, you know I have nothing but respect for you and The Holy Ones. I even bought a skin and a Holy One’s NFT to support you guys, because you guys are the OG’s man, and you guys are freaking awesome.

I see the screenshots and I’m not sure of the whole story man. But I knew Chris for quite some time now, and I know the events he has done for the community. Like the Wearable Wednesday and Fan Art Fridays, was really cool. It was a great way to get exposure of different artists within the community, and as we all know- if you don’t hype your stuff up right away, your wearables might not get exposure.

I encourage you reaching out to him, and just talking to him to come up with a resolution. I’m sorry this may not be a great experience, but I suggest just giving it a second chance man. I know he’s been super busy with stuff (as well all are), but reach out to him privately. I know tensions may flare, especially with numbers coming up, but remember we are all pioneers in this space. Let’s work together, come up with solutions and lift each other up.

Thank you for your opinion. This also has nothing to do with making Decentraland better as a whole. Actually quite Frankly, haven’t seen many results from it. It’s more of an internal back rub amongst members. This has had very little impact for DCL has NOT improved Decentraland as a whole.

However this proposal and others are going to cause a divide because for one Metaskins owns a ton of land in DCL and we have some holders of The Holy Ones with a lot of VP. If stuff like this starts to pass, why wouldn’t the Holy Ones start also asking for funds. Others will start also. The Metaskins team has a lot coming for the Holy Ones. I am in the gaming industry in the US. People will go through all sorts of loopholes to gamble. This is going to bring a lot of people into the space. We are all on-chain also.

Another point is the Metatrekkers haven’t finished minting out, and they are asking for money. The founders receive money more than 90% of their mint, So I am not sure why the founders can’t find the money themselves. I don’t get it. Why throw money at something that is not showing the value needed?

Hence why the Holy Ones have not asked for money and 100% of the Holy Ones mint proceeds goes to their DAO? So the founders of the Holy Ones have zero funds from their community to build a product. There’s more of a reason for them to ask for money. And if you have seen the work of the 42 parcel Holy Temple and what’s to come, easily more than a million dollars worth of work. Maybe it’s NOT the time until for the Metatrekkers until they prove themselves.

Just to Reiterate Metatrekkers mint goes mostly to their founders so their founders should have no problem paying out of pocket. Also if we pay for this Metatrekkers related proposal and they mint out after this, then it just goes to show that really this money is NOT about going to the people involved. It’s giving money to Chris and the founders.

As for a normal citizen of DCL all I see is them name dropping for credibility when in fact there’s not much to show for yet. I wish only good upon other communities, but I will not stand for DCL funds to be wasted on things that are not going to bring value to DCL as a whole.
