@TheCryptoTrader69 I think itās important that this information is available up front. Emm and I just spent 120 mana each under the impression that they werenāt just cosmetic price points.
Hi! Yeah, sorry for the confusion: I see how it could be assumed that each level gives a higher speed; at this point the difference is purely cosmetic. =/
Currently all of the shoes have the same speed (this is unlikely to change), but Iām working on testing additional features for each different level of shoes. Hereās a quick breakdown of what feature are going unlocked per tier:
L1 - Unlocks sprinting (player can move faster)
L2 - Unlocks jump boost (player can jump higher by pressing āSPACEā)
L3 - Unlocks jump hover (player can fly/glide for a period of time by holding āSPACEā)
I was planning a rolling release schedule for these changes to ensure that I can test each additional features a little more before releasing them (basically letting the community play with each function as they got released to make it easier to debug if anything got past me). Iām going to push to get these functions uploaded for review by the end of tonight.
@Sango Hello there! I just pushed an update to enable the jump boost & glide on the higher tier shoes; it would be greatly appreciated if you could test them out!
Green Shoes: Hold āSHIFTā to sprint (increased movement speed)
Blue Shoes: Press & hold āSPACEā to jump (when moving/sprinting)
Purple Shoes: Press & hold āSPACEā to jump then glide (when moving/sprinting)
The camera is a little janky atm when in third person (looks like it may be having an issue keeping up with the player, but they work perfectly in first-person). Iām working on a solution for that, but Iād love to roll these out so people can play with them!
Yup! The sprint should be working across all models: each tier unlocks another ability (L3 has a stronger jump and a glide that keeps you airborne longer)!
Okay, I toned down the speed while gliding after the jump finishes and polished the jumping mechanism a bit more. Iām noticing a lot of differences in the local demo scene vs the on site āview in Decentralandā preview (the rubber-banding wasnāt a thing in the local tests x_x) so Iāve started conducting tests via the site instead. Everything should be good now!
PS: after the updated/stable versions of the shoes are in Iāll be updating the preview to be specific per shoe (I just want to ensure the preview is of the current version as it actually functions in DCL).
