Snow Aura

Hey! will check this now

Thanks !
Any suggestion for an Image to use as thumbnail ?

Hello @Ozymandias !

  • The wearable does not appears well in the editor, this is usually related to an export issue: check your armature is not been moved and it is in t-pose when you export glb file.
You can also try to assign full skin weight to hips bone for the mesh base.
  • Please slightly reduce the overall scale of the wearable
  • Thumbanil is not visible: You will need to upload a custom one (1024x1024 px, PNG with transparent background). I would try to render the wearable, maybe adding a black outline for white dots to gain more contrast- Make sure the thumbnail shows the shape of the volume entirely.

I can reduce the size, no problem.

I saw indeed that the wearable does not appear properly in the editor…
But I suspect a bug in the editor, as there are several other issues that have been identified with it already.
Everywhere else the wearable displays just fine.

Thumbnail upcoming !

Make sure you have skin weights only for the bones you need, (probably hips, spine) and armature is in the original t-pose when exporting

The issue was that I had Applied Transformations on the armature. I reverted that and it works fine in the Editor now. I also reduced the dimensions by 5%.

I tried uploading a 1024x1024 png, but the system says the file is too large, at over 1MB.

Great! You can use this tool to compress images: https://tinypng.com/

The collection has been assigned to fabeeobreen

Thumbnail uploaded, how does it look ?

It’s too late to change the rarity, right ? I thought I was picking a supply of 500 ◓⁔◓

Yes you can’t change rarirty at this stage, about thumbnail: it must show the wearable only with transparent background (rarity color is going to be the background)

This is a bit ridiculous, we only have an option to choose it once at the start ?
When it’s still unclear what rarity we want to give the item ?
Or even of the consequences of the choice as a new user ?
And then there is no numerical reminder of the value that has been picked ?
There is absolutely no logistical reason that I can think of that would make this setting not modifiable before publication…

Values are 10000, 5000, 1000, and then… 100 ! I didn’t pay attention, I clicked above 1000.
So many delays, I was really wanting to get this done… A momentary moment of distraction ! And no option to correct this ?

Sorry to hear that @Ozymandias , it’s not possible to change rarity after collection is published

Well I am going to have strong words about this at the next all-hands meeting.
Aren’t you sorry that DCL isn’t nearly as popular as it could be by now because of ill-conceived pain-points like this ?

<rant>rant rave</rant>
Sorry it’s not easy being half artist >_<
Maybe it’s not so bad that this ends up being Legendary

Ok thumbnail’s been updated

Hey @Ozymandias !
Thumbanil is ok!

For info, for the screenshot to create the thumbnail, I just went to the Editor and hid all the body parts.

Hmm, right I forgot to download this picture for comparison https://docs.decentraland.org/images/wearables-and-emotes/creating-wearables/12_max_width_height.png.
Is it ok if I have it as a cuboid rather than a sphere as per the green circle ?

Edit: the former was meant to be a separate post of its own, but once again I am hitting a poorly conceived restriction: as a new user to this fairly important forum, I cannot post new messages for more 10 hours !
This is all truly unacceptable, really

I am continuing the conversation on Discord, please have a look

Hard to tell the perspective of the green circle, I just uploaded a new version, is it ok ?

  • Yes it’s ok if you keep the cuboid shape! Just reduce the scale a bit so it has a smaller screen coverage.
  • Message limit for new users is in place for cybersecurity reason
