From a member who is so actively engaged in the promotion of Decentraland, and having a leading position in the “CBD community”, I would expect a dedication to the veracity of any statement that is made about DCL on any kind of regular broadcast.
I would also expect warm and open response to members presenting ideas for improving the project as a whole.
I would also expect a much more patient attitude from one who supposedly has been involved in the education and the care of individuals with behavioral disorders.
Instead I was met with unbridled heckling from other participants, when trying to bring accuracy in the technical details which were being discussed in various public conversations. And later, I was the one accused of having been the trouble-maker.
Overall, numerous conversations with this applicant have instead left me rather distressed, and unable to proceed with bringing my proposed fixes to the table.
An overly paranoid attitude over the overall situation of toxicity that has pervaded the space, seems to be clouding the judgement of this applicant, and perhaps even contributing to the continuation of this toxicity.
On another point:
After the vast majority of content that had been funded by DAO Treasury failed to measure up to to expectations, I would expect a change in course.
Instead:
Proposing to continue using DAO Treasury to fund content-creation directly, is proposing to continue what is demonstrably a failed business plan.
This only appeals to professional Software Engineers, who have little interest in the project as a whole, and just “rug” when the funding dries out, leaving behind buildings which remain derelict for the most part.
Furthermore, there has been no consideration whatsoever about how such initiatives are ever supposed to bring money back in to the Treasury !
It is an attempt at modeling the operation of businesses such as Roblox, who can charge a hefty tax on the productions of the content-creators.
But the original project meant for Decentraland to be a country…
The DAO Treasury is meant to maintain the services running in top shape…
The services should be kept running in top shape so that the entrepreneurs and their Artist Coders can complete any effort they engage in…
And the experiences they create should never become broken…
These are the ones to cater too as they are the ones who can produce an economy in DCL !
An economy in DCL will make the value of LAND and MANA rise.
I truly wish I had had the opportunity to explain all of this to this applicant, but have instead been met with practically nothing but stone-walling in the last 6 months.
This is not what is expected from a community leader who should be striving to keep the space open and communal.
